Export Contact:

The “Export Contact” menu option allows the user to export the selected contact in the viewer window to a .VCF format. When “Export contact” is selected, the contact tool will prompt the user with the alert dialogue to either Export the file to the default path (i.e. /mybook/contact/) or “Cancel” . This alert dialogue has two buttons “Export“ and “Cancel“ and it has a message “Exported To: /mybook/contacts/” .This alert dialogue has a “Save as” text field and an edit text in front of it. This edit text will have the contacts last, first, middle name populated by default. The user can either export the file/contact with the default name (i.e…lastname firstname middle name.VCF) or the User can change the file name if needed. Selecting the “Export“ button will export the selected contact in a viewer window and result in a .vcf file. The Exported Contacts will be saved at the default path in the SD card . When the export is completed a test message “Data exported to file mybook/contacts/lastname firstname middlename.vcf” pops up. When the “Cancel”  button is selected, the application will return to the Contact view window without exporting.

Note:

When any special characters like ( “=+^$~.#},{!%`~and*+<>?/\\;\”:|” ) are used in the Contacts Export file name field then an invalid character alert dialogue will pop up, when the “Export“ button is selected in the export alert dialogue. This alert dialogue will have a message “Unable to perform action due to Invalid character – “. Special/invalid character symbol will be displayed inside single quote ‘ in the file name. Thus, the user should avoid using invalid/special characters within the Export file name.
